Thailand Foundation Hosts the Third Expatriate Orientation Program (EOP3)

On the 18-19 October 2023 the Thailand Foundation organized the Third Expatriate Orientation Program (EOP3) at Vithes Samosorn, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The program aimed to provide useful and interesting information to foreigners living in Thailand about various aspects of the country, Thai people, and Thainess. Attendees at the event included diplomats as well as representatives from the private sector and expatriate communities in Thailand. These included ambassadors from 8 countries, representatives from international organizations, and representatives from the Joint Foreign Chambers of Commerce in Thailand (JFCCT), among others.

The Expatriate Orientation Program is conducted twice a year by the Thailand Foundation. The purpose of the program is to serve as a “quick-start manual” to help expatriates and their families enhance their professional and personal experience in Thailand through better understanding Thai culture, customs, and characteristics of Thai people, as well as other essential information that they should be aware of. The sessions are conducted by renowned speakers from different fields, such as history, economics, and international affairs.

Sessions at the Third Expatriate Orientation Program included: (1) Prism of Thainess: Approaching Thai Society from the Perspective of Thai Values; (2) Appreciating Arts in Thailand; (3) Thailand in a Historical Perspective; (4) Access Thailand’s Region Like the Locals; (5) Thai Economy: Thriving in Global Uncertainties; (6) Thai Economy: Gearing for New Frontiers; (7) Hidden Bangkok; and (8) Finding Your Lifestyles in Thailand.

The next Expatriate Orientation Program is planned to be hosted in early 2024. Please stay tuned for updates.
